Six people died after a massive fire broke out at a Swapnalok complex at Secunderabad in Hyderabad on Thursday. The deceased were identified as four girls and two boys.
Out of the six, five died in Gandhi Hospital where they were shifted while one succumbed at a private hospital in Secunderabad.
The incident occurred after a fire broke out due to short-circuit in the fifth floor air-conditioning unit triggered a mammoth fire that raced to the top floors.
According to Additional DCP, South Zone, the fire started around 7:30 pm a fire broke out due to a short circuit. Fire engines were rushed to the spot and rescue operation is underway.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was due to a short circuit.
According to ANI, North Zone DCP Chandana Deepthi said, “Six people including four girls and two boys died in the fire. They were inside the complex when the fire broke out. By the time they were taken out, they were critical and were declared dead on being taken to a hospital. We also managed to rescue 7 people.”
