The Director General of Health confirmed that 31 people died in last 12 days in the Char dham yatra. The cause of the death is due to heart related problems.

The cause of death of the devotees is heart related problems. They are dying due to the pressure on the heart, which is high due to the low amount of oxygen.

31 pilgrims died in the last 12 days in the ongoing Char dham Yatra, including a local resident. According to the State Director General of Health Dr. Shailja Bhatt, high blood pressure and heart attack are the biggest causes of death of pilgrims.

Consequently, the health check-up of the pilgrims is being done in the camps built on the yatra routes. In addition to this, registration of the pilgrims is made mandatory. However, there is an increase of the crowd of devotees in Kedarnath.

As reported by the news agency ANI, 31 people have died in the last 12 days in the ongoing Char dham Yatra in the state. The cause of death is a heart related problem. Those who die are becoming victims of death due to heart attack and high blood pressure.

Due to lack of oxygen in high places people are suffering from these heart diseases. Moreover, a pilgrim who returned from Yamunotri Dham died of a heart attack on Thursday. Another passenger died after falling from a horse.

According to reports, the death toll due to heart attack of devotees in Yamunotri Dham has gone up to 12. While three people have died due to heart attack in Gangotri Dham so far. However, the death toll in both these dhams had reached 16 till Thursday.

According to various sources, a large number of devotees are visiting Kedarnath. Earlier to the corona period, 9 lakh 26 thousand people visited Kedarnath.

2 lakh 20 thousand people visited Kedarnath in the entire season during the Covid period. In 2021, 2 lakh 42 thousand devotees visited the shrine. But this time the number has reached more than 1.5 lakh in just few days.
