Shardiya Navratri 2023: Navaratri is celebrated in different ways throughout India. Navratri is celebrated on the victory of Maa Durga over Mahishasura.
Each year, on every day of Navratri, an incarnation of “Goddess Durga” is worshipped to celebrate the day of her victory over Mahishasura, and the ultimate victory of “Good over Evil.”
Navratri, as the name suggests, is celebrated for nine nights and 10 days. These days are considered extremely auspicious. The tenth day, after Navratri ends, is celebrated as Dussehra or Vijayadashami. During Navratri, nine divine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped.
Shardiya Navratri will begin on October 15 and end on October 24 with Durga Visarjan and Vijaydashami, also known as Dussehra.
The 9 days of Navratri are dedicated to 9 forms of Goddess DurgaShailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kaalaratri, Mahagauri, Durga Mata.
