PM Narendra Modi, announces PM CARES Fund for donations to India’s war against COVID-19 or the Novel Coronavirus and requested for donations on Saturday.
Coronavirus pandemic has claimed 21 lives in India and over 25,000 across the world so far. Hence, PM Modi requested the people of our country to contribute to the PM-CARES Fund to combat the novel virus.
“People from various walks of life extended their helping hand to donate to India’s war against COVID-19”, PM Modi said: Talking to Twitter on Saturday. He said that the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been established, respecting the spirit of the donors. He was happy that this way we are going to create a healthier India.
People from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to India’s war against COVID-19.
Respecting that spirit, the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India.

In another tweet, PM Modi appealed to the citizens saying: “Kindly contribute to the PM-CARES Fund. This Fund will also be useful to similar distressing situations if they occur in the future. This link below has all the important details about the fund.”

PM Modi further said, “The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. The disaster management capacities and facilities to encourage research to protect our citizens would be strengthened by this fund.
“Let us leave no stone un-turned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations,” PM Modi said.
People have been sending innumerable requests to the Prime Minister’s office for making generous donations to support the government in the wake of this emergency.
Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) has been set up with the intention to have a dedicated national fund with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, like the COVID-19 pandemic, so as to provide relief to the affected.
It is a public charitable trust under the name of CARES. The Prime Minister is the Chairman of this trust. In addition to the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister are also included in it.
