On Thursday, IIT Mandi director Laxmidhar Behara allegedly claimed that cloudbursts and landslides in Himachal are happening because of people eating meat.
A video of the IIT Mandi director addressing a group of students is going viral all over social media and the internet. The video is not dated and uploaded on YouTube.
In the video, the director allegedly claims Himachal Pradesh will have a significant downfall if the innocent animals are butchered. You are butchering innocent animals.
Himachal Pradesh is having landslides, cloudbursts and many other things repeatedly. These are all effects of cruelty on animals…people eat meat, he added.
Furthermore, he asked the students to chant ‘no meat-eating’ and took an oath: ” I will not eat Meat”.
IIT Mandi director on Himachal Landslide and Cloudbursts:
Director of an IIT. Why is Himachal having landslides? Because of unplanned construction/deforestation/climate change/all of the above? No. Because of meat-eating.
Is he saying farming animals leads to deforestation? No. He says it leads to cloudbursts.https://t.co/uudBNxWUCO— Rahul Siddharthan (@rsidd120) September 7, 2023
