A Chinese spokesperson said that they hope that India provides a fair, impartial and non-discriminatory business environment for all market players and rectify discriminatory practices.
China has opposed the move taken by India a day after another round of ban on Chinese apps. The reason given was that these apps may pose a threat to India’s national security. The neighboring country is really upset with the move.

Ji Rong, the spokesperson of the Chinese embassy in India said that China firmly opposes the Indian side’s repeated use of ‘national security’ as an excuse to prohibit mobile apps with a Chinese background. He hopes India provides a fair, impartial and non-discriminatory business environment for all market players and rectifies discriminatory practices violating WTO rules.

Rong said that the government of China always wanted its companies to abide by the international rules. The Chinese government wants its companies to operate in compliance with laws and regulations and conform to public order and good morals.

They also added that both the countries (China and India) should provide “opportunities for development to each other rather than threats”. Bilateral economic and trade relations back to the right path for mutual benefit and win-win results on the basis of dialogue and negotiation should be brought.

The Centre banned 43 more Chinese mobile apps on Tuesday, including AliExpress, AliSuppliers, Lalamove India, Mango TV amongst the other apps which takes the total number of apps banned in India since June to 220.

India has been consistently saying that these apps are engaging in activities that are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of the country. The government had blocked several apps including some popular ones like TikTok, WeChat, PUBG, CamScanner to name a few, on June 29 and September 2.
