It is alleged that a monkey was hanged from a tree by a person in Telangana’s Khammam district, while the locals cheered.

A monkey was allegedly subjected to extreme brutality in Khammam district of Telangana. The incident came to light after the video of a monkey being hanged to death came to light on social media. In the video, other people could be seen cheering as the monkey died.

Three persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident. The incident took place at the Ammapalem village which falls under the Vemsoor block of Khammam district.

On the day of the incident, a troop of monkeys entered the area. As one of the locals was irked at the presence of the monkeys, he decided to teach them a lesson.

The man caught hold of a monkey who had fallen into a water tube well and hanged him to death. The rest of the villagers did not raise an objection to the cruelty being meted out to the monkey and instead, cheered for the accused.

On asking the villagers about the incident, they said that they were fed up with the menace which the monkeys did in the village and that all their complaints to the higher authorities have fallen on deaf ears. They feel that the hanging of the money is justified.
