Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation, said that negligence in personal and social behaviour has been witnessed ever since Unlock 1.0 started in the country on June 01. “Earlier, we were more cautious about the use of masks, ‘do gaj doori‘ and washing hands several times a day for 20 seconds,” on Tuesday.
“When compared to other countries across the globe, India is still in a very stable situation, in the battle against COVID-19. Timely decisions and measures have played a great role.”
“We have entered into Unlock 2.0 while battling with coronavirus. The weather when cases of cold and cough witness a spike has also come. In such a situation, I request countrymen to take care of themselves,” said PM.
“Earlier, we were very cautious egarding wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, However, ever since Unlock 1.0 became effective in the country, cases of negligence in personal and social behaviour has been increasing. Earlier, we were more cautious about the use of masks, maintaining ‘do gaj doori’ and washing hands several times a day for 20 seconds. However, after the relaxations were given in lockdown, laxity was observed. This is worrisome…We need to check on who are not obeying lockdown norms.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that the PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana will be extended throughout India till Diwali. Addressing the nation in a televised address, PM Modi said with this step, the government will be providing free ration to nearly 80 crore people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the extension of the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana will incur an expenditure of Rs 90,000 crore. The scheme will be extended till November.
Under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, we announced a package of Rs. 1.75 lakh crore. In the last three months, Rs 31,000 crore were deposited in bank accounts of 20 crore poor families. Also, Rs 18,000 crore deposited in bank accounts of more than nine crore farmers.
While addressing the nation, the PM announced the extension of PM Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana till the end of November. The extension to cost more than Rs 90,000 crore.
