Viral: Kanpur government official’s leave request to pacify irate wife

A government official in Kanpur, UP, sent a leave letter mentioning that he was “mentally hurt” as his irate wife had gone to her maternal home.

Be it officials or any other employees seeking leaves from office citing reasons is a regular incident. But citing fictitious reasons is really a challenge. However, some people try to be honest while requesting for leave.

One such incident has now gone viral as a government official requested three days’ leave . Apparently the reason he gave was to persuade his irate wife to return home from her maternal house.

Shamshad Ahmed, an official working with the education department in Kanpur, mentioned that he was “mentally hurt” as his wife had left the house with their children, and gone to her mother’s house. Hence, he mentioned that he needed the leaves to visit her village and convince her to return home.
