Technology exposes man: Udupi resident violates home quarantine 163 times in 14 days

A man who arrived in Udupi on June 29 and was suggested to isolate himself in  home quarantine allegedly violated the same and stepped out of home 163 times in two weeks.

A man allegedly violated his home quarantine for around 163 times within 14 day. The man was booked on the basis of the information on his GPS tracker. He was identified as Sahab Singh. As per Singh’s GPS tracker, he visited several places while he was supposed to stay indoors.

Singh lives at his rented home in Koteshwara from Mumbai. He arrived at the house on June 29 and was asked to quarantine himself at home. The authorities directed Singh to remain under home quarantine until July 3.

Despite this, the man stepped out of his house and visited Kundapur, Udupi and several hotels in the district. As per the GPS tracker installed in the man’s mobile phone, he violated his home quarantine 163 times within 14 days.

After the officials learned about the violations, they filed a case against Singh at the Kundapura police station. The accused was booked under section 269 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
