In a shocking incident, a 7 month-old-boy who was stolen sleeping next to his mother at Mathura railway station, has been recovered from a BJP leader’s house in Firozabad.

The CCTV footage of the crime created outrage across the country. However, the child was found in BJP leader’s house, in Firozabad. Apparently, the police suspect a greater child trafficking racket of buying and selling children.

BJP’s Vinita Agarwal and her husband were caught red-handed with the boy who was stolen from the Mathura Railway station. The couple defended themselves saying that they allegedly bought the boy from two doctors to whom they paid Rs.1.8 lakh. The couple wanted a boy as they already have a daughter.

The police were quick to probe into the matter. They arrested the man seen in the CCTV footage. Furthermore, seven others were also arrested.

Senior Police officer Mohammed Mushtaq said “We found that a man named Deep Kumar took the child. He is part of a gang that includes two doctors who run a hospital in the neighboring Hathras district. Some other health workers are involved too. We interrogated the people in whose home the child was found, and they told us they had only one daughter, so wanted a son. That’s why they made the deal.”

The Police officer gave a detailed report in which he mentioned that the kidnapping of the child was carried out by a gang involved in trafficking for money.
