The hijab controversy deepened in Karnataka. The girl students are reluctant to attend college without an hijab. Earlier, the girls who wore Hijab are not allowed into the college. There is an uproar across the country regarding this issue.
The right wing students protested by wearing saffron scarfs as they objected to the head scarfs. In addition to all this, students who belong to Jai Bhim supported the girls. They took out a rally and shouted slogans against the discrimination.
According to the report of NDTV, the college authorities allowed the girls into college but made them sit in a separate room. They were not allowed to attend the classes. Moreover, two colleges declared holiday to avoid communal trouble.
However, the High court will hear the petition on Tuesday. Hence, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr. Basavaraj Bommai asked everyone to maintain peace and wait for the hearing in the High court.
However, the Education Minister BC Nagesh ordered that the protesting students should not be allowed into government educational institutions. He also said that women protesters should be confined to a separate room of the college.
