Twitter Outage: Several users complained that could not log into the microblogging site on Friday morning. When they logged into, a pop up message appeared, “Something went wrong, but don’t worry – try again”
According to NDTV reports, the outage started around 3 am and saw a relatively big spike around 7 am.
Speculations are high after Elon Musk took control of Twitter and fired its top executives last week. It is learnt that he has also started mass layoffs on 4 November.
Twitter Layoffs
Apparently, a internal memo was circulated to inform them about the layoffs which would start on 4 November.
In addition to that they were told that the employees will receive an email by 9AM PST on November 4 confirming whether they have been laid off or not. Moreover, the memo informed that the employee badge access to Twitter’s offices will be shut off “temporarily.”
Furthermore, the memo read, “We acknowledge this is an incredibly challenging experience to go through, whether or not you are impacted.”
“Thank you for continuing to adhere to Twitter policies that prohibit you from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.
It is anticipated that Musk may cut roughly half of Twitter’s roughly 7,500-person workforce.
Musk has already indicated that he would make job cuts at Twitter, telling employees at a town-hall meeting this summer that there needs to be “a rationalization of headcount” at the social network.
